The Uganda Chess Federation (UCF) formally invites all chess stakeholders to witness a historic moment in the governance of chess in Uganda. All media houses, chess clubs, chess associations, delegates, chess players, and the wider chess fraternity are hereby invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected UCF Executive Committee.
The swearing-in ceremony is being conducted in full compliance with the Uganda Chess Federation Constitution. The Returning Officer is executing this duty under Article 13, a mandate lawfully granted by the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The process and outcome have been duly recognized and stamped by the National Council of Sports (NCS), confirming the legitimacy of the elections and the incoming leadership.

On 30th November 2025, the Uganda Chess Federation successfully conducted elections in which Mr. Bakiza emerged victorious. This election marked a significant milestone for the federation and reaffirmed the democratic will of the delegates. Following this process, a new cabinet and executive were constituted in accordance with the federation’s constitution and national sports governance frameworks.
The swearing-in ceremony will take place tomorrow at 2:00 PM at Kati Kati Restaurant. The ceremony will be officiated by the Returning Officer, who will formally swear in the new executive leadership of the Uganda Chess Federation. This event symbolizes continuity of leadership, respect for constitutional order, and a renewed commitment to the growth and development of chess in Uganda.

All chess enthusiasts are encouraged to come in large numbers and be part of this historic occasion. The presence of players, coaches, clubs, schools, institutions, and administrators is vital as the federation turns a new page and charts a forward-looking path for the future of chess in Uganda. This is a moment to witness history, celebrate progress, and reaffirm unity within the chess community.
Issued by the Uganda Chess Federation. Chess must progress, governance must be respected, and the future begins now.
