MAKERERE WINS BIG AT THE AFRICAN UNIVERSITY CHESS GAMES 2024
Kampala, Uganda – Makerere University’s athletic potential was on full display at the recently concluded African University Games in Nigeria, as Margaret Nassiwa and Luggya Angel clinched gold and silver medals, respectively.
The duo’s impressive performance was a testament to the university’s commitment to nurturing talent and excellence in sports. Meanwhile,Mugaga Allan caused a major upset aganist Isaac Okeke from nigeria rated 2118 in the All African University Games (Fasu) chess tournament, surprising fans and opponents alike with his exceptional skill and determination.
Under the guidance of experienced Coach Chris Turyahabwe, Makerere University’s team demonstrated remarkable teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the games.
